I cannot begin to thank Paul enough! He has the absolute patience of a saint. I had a little prior driving experience (around 20 hours when I was 17 — I’m now 21), and within 8 hours of him teaching me he said, “If I could put you in for a test now, I would.” And I ran with it!

I’m quite an anxious person when it comes to new things, but I thought, hey, I’ll give it a go and lo and behold, I took the leap and rebooked my test for 3 months earlier than it was supposed to be. With Paul’s great advice, patience and care, I passed with only 2 minors!

He’s a great guy who lets you learn at your own pace, whilst also being there to give you that push when you need it. I genuinely couldn’t recommend him enough.

I never drove a car in my home country before i learned everything here and Paul really helped me in my hardest times to scan the roads and i passed the test because of his effort. He is an excellent teacher .

I recently completed a taxi test training course in Leeds with Paul, and it was exactly what I needed to get ready for my test and to be great road user. With his previous experience as a DVSA examiner, he gave me a clear understanding of the requirements clearly pointing out the sections of the highway code to support the training sessions.

I would highly recommend learning to drive with Paul Robinson. I had some previous driving experience, but I gave up with lessons a few years ago, so I was feeling quite apprehensive about getting behind the wheel again. Paul’s relaxed yet reassuring manner gave me an instant confidence boost. When any situation arises (no matter how stressful!) Paul manages to keep his calm and talk you through it, giving you the confidence and experience to deal with issues when driving solo in the future. If you are serious about putting time and effort into learning to drive, then that is reciprocated by Paul and he really went out of his way to ensure I got to my test. Unlike other companies that I have heard of, I am 100% confident that I got every penny’s worth out of my driving tuition. I’d recommend Paul to anybody looking to learn to drive in Leeds. Paul is patient, clear, and calm, knowing when to give guidance and when to point out successes. I asked a lot of him, aiming to pass before I finished Uni (leaving only a few weeks for lessons), at a time when I was also incredibly busy with my final year deadlines. He was really flexible with lessons and treated me as a person, not just as a source of income. I passed first time and before moving away. Fully recommended.

I couldn’t have imagined, having never driven a car before, that within 8 months I’d have passed my driving test, 1st time, with 1 minor.

It was only possible because of Paul.

Having had multiple friends tell me tales of awful driving instructors I always going to be hesitant, however, from day one Paul was calming, encouraging, and patient. He has a great sense of humour which is really reassuring, especially when your nervous. He is happy to go at your pace without either rushing you too quickly into situations you’re not comfortable with, or by slowing your learning down. He will make your lessons engaging, fun, and pile you full of knowledge and tips that you’ll find invaluable.

When you pay for 2 hour lessons you get 2 hour lessons, if he is slightly late because of traffic, etc, he’ll ensure this made up to you and isn’t one to rip you off at all!

I can’t thank Paul enough for his professionalism, patience, and drive (no pun intended) to help me past my test at a speed I was comfortable with. I can honestly say I already feel like a safe and confident driver, and that’s all down to Paul.

Paul is a fantastic driving instructor. He is calm, polite, informative and entirely present during lessons. Over the course of my initial batch of five two-hour lessons (which I really recommend if you’re completely new to driving) I went from zero experience behind the wheel to a test ready standard. A few more lessons after getting my theory sorted saw me pass my driving test first time.

Paul clearly enjoys his work, and knows how to teach not only the skills of driving a car, but the mindset to do so safely, and he backs up his superb lessons with plenty of material for further study if you want or need it.

BEST driver instructor ever!!!! I strongly recommend Paul as everyone’s driving instructor! I passed my driving test today with ONLY 3 driving fault!! I am very pleased! Paul was a very good driving instructor when I went for refresher driving lessons. I felt far more confident in my driving by the end of these lessons and would recommend Paul to anyone looking for a driving instructor.

Paul is worth a lot more than just 5 starts. I have been with 4 other driving instructors before finding Paul and the difference between him and the other instructors is that he actually cares, he takes the time to actually teach and not just drive around. I learnt more in my first 2 hour lesson with Paul than I had in 40+ hours with my previous instructor! He is by far the best driving instructor in Leeds for sure. He is extreamly patient, his way of teaching works, you come away from every lesson feeling confident. I had picked up a lot bad habits from other instructors, and I don’t think I would have ever passed if it wasn’t for him, not just teaching me to pass my test but teaching me to drive! I passed FIRST TIME with Paul at Horsforth and after getting into my own car I was completely at ease, I had the confidence and ability thanks to Him.

I came to Paul after I started to get back into driving (I had a few years off after buying my first home) and he was recommended by my friend who has passed first time. I had previously been with some big named driving schools, who, it turns out, had taught me some very bad and questionable habits.

Paul was patient and understanding and slowly worked and iron out these habits as well as the driving myths these schools had told me. I would say all in all I had around 15 hours with Paul, with a lot of private time working on Paul’s feedback so that way my time with Paul would be more effective and constructive.

I’m happy to say I passed first time, thanks to Paul and his patience and teaching me how to be a great driver and instilled some great life long habits. In fact I have been driving a week so far and all my family and friends are amazed at how good of a driver I am and say it’s as though I have been driving for years 🙂

Passed FIRST TIME with Paul! Always a calm and relaxing atmosphere in the car, and was very patient with me.

A very professional and experienced guy who can also have a laugh and put you at ease And genuinely wants the best for his students! I was very nervous but Paul always made me feel like I could do it which gave me determination!

Having had some gaps in my lessons (down to my studies) I was wary although I clearly had a great driving instructor who was always very reassuring and had taught me a great skill set and as a result ended up passing first time!!

Always very accommodating with time Paul would try to slot me in wherever he could.

Rather than dwell on what I would do wrong he would always put ahead the positives which made me feel more confident in all!

I am now happy to say I can take out the skills Paul has taught me into the real world and drive and more importantly, drive safely!

Had a refresher lesson with Paul, being new to the country and driving on the left. He was all around a great instructor and can highly recommend his driving school for any would-be learner or just looking for a driving brush-up.

I can not recommend Paul enough. I came to Paul after a ten year break from attempting to pass my test, having taken it twice before. I was nervous, and in my heart of hearts never believed I could pass, but Paul changed all that for me within the first five minutes of getting in the car with him.

He’s a very skilled and patient instructor, who continually reinforces the right and safe road behaviours by encouraging you to look beyond just what needs to be done to pass your test, but how to be a safe long term driver.

I hadn’t driven for three years and was nervous getting back on the road, so understandably was a little apprehensive in getting back into the driving seat. However, I felt calm throughout my two hour refresher lesson, and Paul was excellent in guiding me through all the necessary aspects of driving.

He let me dictate what I wanted to focus on and gave me the confidence to get back on the road. A thoroughly enjoyable lesson and would recommend Paul for new and experienced drivers alike.

Paul made driving lessons a fun experience. I enjoyed his dry humor which he uses very effectively to drive home certain lessons. Unlike most of Paul’s other pupils, i didn’t clear the first time, but Paul persevered with me. I never felt like he asked me to come for more classes than I actually needed. I have taken (test) classes from three other instructors in Leeds and i found Paul’s approach to be better than the other three. Plus his vehicle was much smoother than the other ones i have driven. I rarely give reviews on Google, but here’s my thumbs-up to your decision to choose Paul!

I couldn’t recommend Paul enough – he was accommodating with his time, put me at ease in the car and managed to get me a pass first time. Most importantly, I passed my test feeling that it wasn’t a fluke and that I was a safe driver. He was also able to patiently work on bad habits I’d picked up from driving on L-plates with my parents, something I was worried would take much longer than it did. Rather than be overly critical he’d comment on the positives and identify areas to work on during the next lesson. I’m relieved that I found him as I’d heard some horror stories from friends who weren’t so lucky with their instructors. Cheers Paul!

I’ve had a number of driving instructors over the years and aside from finally getting me a pass, Paul was by far my most positive learning experience. He has a very relaxing manner, doesn’t play a blame game and doesn’t babble on all lesson with excess small talk. Everything he says is geared to impart his knowledge and philosophy on driving in a way that neither feels preachy nor condescending, and definitely provides a fresh and engaging perspective on how to be a better, safer and more confident driver.

Paul was very accommodating with his time and we did a lot of early morning sessions as that matched the time I had booked for my test, whilst I wont miss getting up extra early, its funny but in some ways I’m going to miss the lessons!

Paul is a brilliant instructor who coached me to pass first time. He dedicated his evenings 2 nights a week to fit me into his timetable after having been let down by previous instructor’s before.

I found Paul through my boyfriend. I had had an unpleasant experience with my first driving instructor which led me to wanting to find another. My boyfriend had already had some lessons with Paul and had discussed the situation, Paul was more than happy to start teaching me and made me feel comfortable and safe when in his car from the beginning. Paul is very friendly as well as flexible and is always happy to help. I managed to pass my test with only 4 minors and it has given me so much more freedom. I am really thankful i managed to find Paul and i would really recommend him to anyone who is wanting to pass their test.

I would highly recommend Paul to anyone looking for a driving instructor. Paul helped me out big time as one of the larger driving schools let me down in the weeks leading up to my test. Paul was able to get me in at short notice and his teaching is honest and professional. Compared to the national driving schools I’ve had lessons with, Paul is less focused on getting money out of pupils and more on the professional side of instructing learners. He knows where improvements are needed and teaches you the how’s and why’s of driving rather than teaching you just to pass your test. On top of that he remains very calm and polite whilst teaching which is definitely the most important thing whilst learning to drive.
